In October 2021 Terry Patten, founder of A New Republic of the Heart,  died of cancer. He was a "community organizer, philosopher, and teacher who devoted his efforts to the integral project of evolving consciousness through practice, and facing, examining, and healing our global crisis through the marriage of spirit and activism."
